Dr. Fernandez, has picked up its research and recovery process in “Mis Recetas Anticáncer” (My Anticancer Recipes), a complete book where explains why some foods promote the proliferation of bad cells, and which on the other hand, can prevent and even reverse that disease process.

You change your eating habits because of the disease… You Lasted much to notice that the changes in your diet you were laying well?
Very little. Quickly note a subjective feeling of health. Each day I noticed that had more energy. The tiredness prior to the change of feed faded and gave way to a whirlwind of vitality.
The pain from bone metastases disappeared very quickly and I didn’t have to take analgesia. My skin began to glow, disappeared on acne, my intestinal rhythm is regulated, the gas disappeared … and above all pass a chemo with very few side effects.
Berries… were present from the beginning in this change?
Yes. Depending on the season I introduced some or other in my plan… strawberries, cherries, blueberries, currants, blackberries, raspberries, pomegranate…
We know that berries have antioxidant properties and vitamins, especially vitamin C but, what are its anti-cancer properties?
Berries are rich in Ellagic Acid (especially strawberries and raspberries), a substance with many anticancer properties:
-Has anti-angiogenic activity action, avoiding that the tumor will expand and metastasize.
-Removes the toxins from the cells, thus preventing the carcinogenic substances of the environment become substances toxic to the cells.
In addition the Cherry contains Saccharic acid, a substance detoxifying.
Blueberries contain anthocyanins and black “proanthocyanins,” both with important activity to induce suicide of tumor cells and anti-angiogenic activity. They are also rich in vitamin C, which is an important antioxidant.
Blueberries contain quercetin and pterostilbene, two important molecules in the fight against breast cancer, ovarian, and colon.
Our berries have different Nutraceutical Properties… what are their differences preventive? What are more indicated, for example, strawberries to prevent or help in the treatment of a particular cancer or blueberries or raspberries in other…?
The most indicated are the blueberries for your greater polyphenol content. But I would recommend them all and go varying.
Recently we had news of a British nurse with ebola which ensures that your healing intervened the fact consume more than 10 for strawberry in a couple of weeks of treatment… What consumption it is advisable that the prevention to be effective?
We have no data of that type. The recommendation is consume them frequently and, if you can, on a daily basis.
We see our fruit in pastries, smoothies, sauces… How important is the way to cook it?
It is best consumed in crude oil to take maximum advantage of their properties. Or we consume fresh as such or added to salads, juices and smoothies.
Have you taken into account when it comes to exercise your option to purchase the sustainability of the crop or the biological culture?
I always try eating local, seasonal and organic to make sure that the food chosen has the maximum of nutrients and phytochemicals and the minor rest of pesticides and heavy metals as possible.
What are the foods that we should avoid to follow a diet of cancer preventive?
The processed foods and sugary foods. The excess milk and red meat, as well as sausages, fried foods, barbecues, salted and smoked. Avoid from industrialized products and let us bet to the fresh products prepared at home.
